Shifted_Spheres is an online exhibition of work produced by members of the MA/MFA Art in the Contemporary World during the lockdown in spring 2020. The works assembled here arose in response to the study of 'Mapping and the Politics of Public Space', an inter-disciplinary module developed by Dr Francis Halsall (NCAD) and Seoidín O'Sullivan (artist), with contributions from Dr Ronan Foley (NUIG) and Kelley O'Brien (artist).

The works assembled here arose from weeks of digital conversations exploring what it means to map space at all scales, yet due to the unique circumstances in which these conversations unfolded they simultaneously chart the shifting of academic enquiry into the more intimate and personal spaces of the home. They are artefacts of our fragmented togetherness created as we renegotiated the space around us, confined to a 2km radius from _home_, mapping ourselves in the process. Each participant has created their own web page to situate their work, with none of the usual curatorial intervention, a further exploration of distanced practices.
